 Instant Inventory – Frequently Asked Questions

It’s a detailed record of a property’s condition and contents before and after a tenancy—including cleanliness, meter readings, key handover, alarm checks, and more.

Right before the tenancy starts, allowing enough time for reporting, tenant review, and signature collection.

All parties sign digitally within 3–5 days. Once completed, the full report is sent via secure email—no need to print anything.

Tenants have 7 days to review and comment. If no response is received, the report is considered accepted.

Third-party inventory reports are preferred by deposit scheme adjudicators—they help avoid costly disputes and support landlord protection.
